VHT is a world leader in high temperature coatings and specialty products. VHT originated as a Brand owned by the Sperex Corporation, who pioneered high temperature coatings for NASA and many of its aerospace suppliers in southern California. Not long after Neil Armstrong landed on the moon, the hot rodders of the area discovered that the magic of VHT had many applications for hot rods. Thus, the Brand's introduction into the automotive aftermarket industry. The hot rod movement and the growth of drag racing further inspired VHT to develop a traction compound, now known as TrackBite. VHT's TrackBite has been in use at nearly every major drag race ever since and has become the household name among traction compounds. Mr. P.J. Harvey, founder of the PJ1 Brand, purchased the Sperex Corporation and the VHT Brand in 1989 and brought the popular VHT name under the PJH BRANDS umbrella of brands. Today, VHT Brand products are widely used in the aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, and racing industries. The VHT Brand remains the world leader and innovator in the coatings industry.
